Light Decorations from Xmas to New Years

        華沙是座二戰被轟炸嚴重破壞的城市，因此，旅行波蘭通常會選擇去中古世紀古城克拉克，這次造訪波蘭四天三夜的行程中，華沙只佔了一天。當時適逢跨年夜，幾乎所有人都跑去英國倫敦了，而華沙或甚至波蘭是個冷門至極的景點。我查了許多資料，發現似乎沒什麼事可做，本來只打算吃吃餐館慶祝跨年，卻讓我意外的看到了整座城市張燈結綵，而燈飾之高雅卻是我看過的最甚，美不勝收。
        Warsaw is a city that was seriously destructed in WW2. Therefore, many travelers would prefer to visit the beautiful medieval town Krakow instead. During my trip in Poland, I stayed in Warsaw for only one day, but it was New Years Eve. Most of the exchange students I know went to London, and Warsaw is a uncommon place to spend for New Years Eve. I looked up for some information, and came up with a conclusion that there weren't anything special to do. I originally planned to have a decent dinner to celebrate new years, but the light decorations in Warsaw was totally beyond my expectations. The light decorations were the most elegant new years decoration I have seen.

        跨年煙火並不特別美麗，比起許多國家政府燒錢放煙火，華沙的煙火就是在河邊的普通煙火，倒是人們自己會買煙火來施放，群眾距離煙火相當近，我非常擔心煙火在空中燃燒不完全會不會砸下來，但大家興致高昂，毫無顧忌。
        The fireworks in Warsaw weren't so special, especially compared to many money-burning fireworks. In Warsaw, many residents buy their own fireworks, some of which are better than those displayed by the city. However, those fireworks displayed by locals were kind of dangerous cause they burned so close to the crowd. I was quite afraid.

相對煙火，我還是喜歡華沙高雅的燈飾。
Compared to fireworks, the light decorations in Warsaw were much more appealing.

The decorations made the atmosphere so romantic, and I felt like living in a fairy tale.

政府大樓也都打了燈光。
The city hall was lit up.

        繁華的大街上，美不勝收，這是我第一次這麼陶醉於人造的燈飾。2014跨年，煙花並不璀璨，大街上熱鬧但人群並不擁擠。
        The whole street was splendid but elegant. There were many people, but it wasn't crowded.

街頭漸漸冷清，這個城市已經入睡。

The crowd gradually thinned off. The city was going to sleep.

醒著的，唯有街燈，散發著溫熱卻不刺眼的光，守護這座城。
The street lights were the only ones awake. They give out warm but not dazzling light.
They guard the whole city.

晚安華沙，這個飽經風霜卻如此高雅的城市。

Good night, Warsaw, a city that had experience hardships but still elegant.
