The Chinatown location was the third branch of Home Cafe in SF. Having heard its popularity in other locations for a while, I visited the place for a couple of times after the new branch opened. The front door had a home logo within a Chinatown style design. The indoor decoration was simple and modern, and the staffs were super friendly and welcoming.
Their specialty - Birthday Cake Latte was super cute. As the name stated, the latte was decorated with birthday colors, which offsets the bitterness in the coffee.
Their Lavender Latte was also pretty good and also cutely designed with a bear face. Their matcha was in comparison more average as there are much more authentic matcha places in SF.
Besides the drinks, they have creative thick toasts to accompany the coffee. I enjoyed their Say Cheese, which has cheese over bacon and corns, and tasted like pizza topping on breakfast toast. The Truffle in Paradise was tasty too. I like how the cheese and pesto melted in the toppings and make the flavor blend well among each other. I also tried the Seoul Much Avo once, which was a Korean/Californian fusion but I was a bit disappointed by the fact that the toppings were presented as a cold salad style. Also, there was few times that the toast was a bit overcooked but overall the toasts were good.
