[FOOD] Baker Doe Asian Inspired Innovative Croissants Review
Baker Doe features in Asian inspired innovative croissants. It is a delivery-only croissant bakery that only delivers to addresses with a San Francisco zip code. Even if you have a San Francisco zip code, you'll need to get through a small hassle in order to get the croissants. They do not have an online shop. All they have is a facebook page and all orders are done through private messages. They post out the weekly menu and starts to take orders during every Friday afternoon. You'll need to provide them with your order and your contact details. Once that is done, they'll reply with an approximate delivery time. The deliver is on Sunday morning, and in my case, it was around 9 am.
I woke up early on Sunday morning as if it were a weekday to gather the bills and coins to pay because they only accept cash. The order arrived on time and the croissants are colorful and beautiful as in the pictures people share. I especially like the Bicolor Strawberry and Sesame Croissant. The two flavors mingled perfectly and the cream came rushing out. The Thai Tea Danish was good as well. Unlike some bakeries that are overwhelmingly sweet, the tea flavor was well presented and just had the proper amount of sweetness added. The Matcha one was not as good as I imagined. The matcha flavor was rather thin and it tasted more like a normal croissant with cream. There are much more places in San Francisco that sell authentic matcha drinks and sweets.
I saved some for desserts during the rest of the week and reheated them with ovens. They still taste good or even better than when I first received them. I knew they were freshly baked but they have turned cold due to the transit under the cool weather in San Francisco. Still, the overall experience was nice and I would definitely try it again.
